How do I increase the size of a form field?

I am trying to create a form using a table and I would like to make the size
of the field bigger so it can fit in a cell. Is there a way to do that?

Text entered in a text form field can be any size. If you want your table
cell to indicate the amount of space allowed, set it to an exact height and
preferred width.

I have set the parimeters of my cells in my table but I would like to know if
I can make the actual field a larger size prior to anyone entering
information in that field. I would like the field to take up a specific
amount of space so the line does not shift.

When you insert a text field it is a specific size. Is there a way to
increase that size without entering information in it?

You can add nonbreaking spaces to the default text.
