The Word short cut key to get this symbol is <ctl>/,c (that is hold down
control and "/" then the next key struck is "c".
To find the short cut keys go to menu Insert/Symbol and find the symbol
you would like to insert. If it has an short cut key of alt+nnnn then
you can either type type the number s or enter your own short cut key or
even an auto correct. Thus you could set up an auto correct function
that if you type "c/" or "c|" that you would want it to auto correct to
the cent sign.
