How do I insert a Coreldraw 12 picture into a Word document

When trying to insert a Coreldraw 12 picture into a Word document it gives
error. The same for Coreldraw 11 and 10. If inserting a Coreldraw 9, 8 or 7,
the greek letters are not recognized.
Do you know a solution, other than transforming to Windows metafile, etc?
My objective is to covert the Word document into a .pdf file, and windows
metafile is losing quality. Converting Coreldraw 12 files into .pdf directly
works fine. Now I need to insert them first into Word.

In Coreldraw, for best results, I use File-Export and save to JPG first.
Then, from Word, Insert-Picture from file and insert the JPG.

I have Corel 12, I have success by simply using "paste special." Only when I directly
paste to Word do I get the Corel recovery error.
