How do I insert a file as a link (shared netword drive) in email?

Older versions of Outlook gave an option of inserting a file as a hyperlink
in the dropdown box. A recent upgrade left me without that particular option
in the dropdown menu ("Insert file as").

How can I do it without manually typing it in?
