Maybe - but I wouldn't. I would suggest looking at some of the graphics
software that you probably have installed on your computer

You could place a text box (No Line, No Fill) in front of the picture and
type the word in it.

Thank you that is helpful. I have another question - I want to be able to
copy and paste the clip art with the word embedded into other documents, but
when I use copy & paste, only the clip art is pasted not the clip art with
word embedded. Is there any way to solve this dilemma?

The word is not "embedded." It's a separate object. You'll need to select
both objects together. If the graphic is wrapped, you can group them.
Alternatively, select both and save as an AutoText entry, and use that to
insert the combination in other documents.

Thanks for your help. I inserted a text box onto the clipart, then by
selecting both as you suggested, had no problem with the copying & pasting.
