how do i insert flash files into frontpage

T

Tom Pepper Willett

Import your SWF file into your Web site and then use Flasher to set all of
the Flash options from right within FrontPage...

Free FP addin Flasher is available from:

|i cant seem to insert .fla files into frontpage , how do i do it

Andrew Murray

you need to convert the fla file to swf, and insert the swf file into your
frontpage site.

deb

I am also having trouble inserting flash files. how do you convert into swf
and then get them into your website, please answer in simple terms for us
that are not so technicaly minded :eek:/

Hi Deb,

What have you used to create your Flash files? (.swf) First you need a
program that allows you to create them (not convert them) Flash and Swish
are a couple that come to mind. Then after you create them..you can use the
FrontPage import features (File | Import) to bring them into your web.
Lastly.. using Jimco's Flasher..from within FrontPage..will make setting
them up to run..much easier.

Paul,

Does this mean I could create moving pictures/graphics with this software
and insert in Frontpage 2002?

Rather than inserting FLA. try to insert as SWF this works fine with FP2003.
Hope this is of help.

To view them you need Flash:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW

To Edit them you need them:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/ ($$$.$$)

or Swish Lite or Max...and not so expensive.

Btw...total Flash sites are yucky and a pain to edit...jmo.

I just want to view some flash templates I downloaded that were .FLA
extensions.I might want to edit and use one later, but for now I'd just like
to view them on this local disk.I'll look at swish, but i'm assuming the is no
freeware available to just view them,"other than the free trial offer at
adobe for their basic 8 software"
Thanks for your rely's

To view them all you need is Flash (free)...if you want to open them and
mess around editing them then download the free 30 day Swish trial.

I was trying to be tactful...yah the barf bigtime. I friend/client of mine
(not a web design client...my real biz client) spent a zillion bucks to have
designed a website for her very very high end boutique...in Flash...it
sukked bigtime, but it was "purty" (imo). Then she paid more big bucks to
have an "addended" normal web added so they could do ecommerce.

Totally agree.

Both the wife and teenage daughter just love that Tiffany site...I may have
to block it on their machines though :)

| Yeah - I see this alot. For some operations, it makes sense -
| http://www.tiffany.com. For most, it does not.
