Not sure if I'm overlooking something or not but I'd like to be able to just
insert the time at the beginning of a note entry instead of the date and
time. Is there a way to do this?

My reason for asking is that I am using the Journal Powertoy for OneNote
2007 which I really like. During the day I might make numerous entries into
the Journal, recording notes on phone conversations, etc and I'd like to be
able to insert the time just before each entry.

Hi there,

I've used OneNote for my daily writing the same way you do. First page each
day has the date at the top then I insert only the time for the rest of the
day on entries.

excerpt from the help files.

Insert the time and date in your notes
Depending on how you use OneNote, you can use your computer's current date
and time in your notes to mark or track chronological events. For example,
you can keep a log of phone calls received at specific times during the day,
or mark entries in your OneNote weblog or diary with the current date.

Place the pointer where you want to add a date and time stamp.
Do one of the following:
On the Insert menu, click Date and Time.
To insert the current date and time, press ALT+SHIFT+F.
To insert only the date, press ALT+SHIFT+D.
To insert only the time, press ALT+SHIFT+T.

Laurie,

Thanks for the quick reply. ALT+SHIFT+T was just what I was looking for. By
the way, you mentioned that you use OneNote to journal in a similar way to
me. Just curious, do you use the OneNote 2007 Journal PowerToy. If not, you
should check it out. It's slick!

I just have to hit the Windows Key plus the "J" key and it opens OneNote to
my Journal for the current year, current month and creates a page for the
current date if not there already. If the current day already exists I need
only to place my cursor and do a ALT+SHIFT+T to insert the time and start
typing.

I don`t us the Powertoy. I am incredibly pleased with the organization I`ve
achieved with the application as is.
