How do I install the OEM Office Professional 2007?

When I purchased my OEM system 6 months ago, we installed the beta version of
Office Professional 2007 with the understanding that we could upgrade to a
legal OEM version when it was released. We were told that we would need to
buy the OEM version from the distributor, which we did. Now we are trying to
install that copy with no success.
Two questions:
1) Any suggestions on how to get the Product Key to work when I try to
install it? What are my recourses and how can I verify I have a valid
Product Key if it won't install?
2) Why is Microsoft making it so hard for those of us that are evaluating
the very software they are launching and wanting us to tell the world how
great it is? I followed what was published on how to legally use what I was
sold, and it has been a pure waste of my time, even though I like the Office
Pro 2007.

Because you have an OEM version, your course of action is to call the
company you purchased the OEM software from. Microsoft cannot/will not help
you with any issues.

Microsoft wants you to test it but there are enough warnings that you are
doing so at your own risk. You are advised not to run beta software on a
production system. That caveat is often ignored - and regretted.
