How do I install the office 2003 service pack 1 successfully?

I have tried to install the office 2003 service pack 1 serveral times and get
a message that it was unsuccessful. I have turned off my computer, turned
off norton's antivirus and went back to updates. The updates states that it
has already been downloaded but then going to install it states it is
unsuccessful. How do I get this service pack installed?
