How do I intentionally add names to the AutoComplete (Nickname) li

There are a couple help topics on the subject of the AutoComplete funtion for
email addressing, such as how to delete names from the AutoComplete list, how
to reset your AutoComplete list (renaming the *.NK2 file), copying the *.NK2
file to a new computer, etc, but I've been unable to locate any instructions
on how to purposefully or intentionally add specific names to the Nickname
list so that it shows up in the AutoComplete list while addressing a message
in Outlook. Any help or suggestions out there?

I've tried typing names / addresses in the To:, Cc:, and Bcc: blocks and
some names contact entries I send 5-10 messages a day to and their names
STILL do not get added to the AutoComplete list. The rhyme or reason for how
a name gets added to the list isn't apparent and defies logic.

Just as I am able to open my personal USER dictionary, I should be able to
open the *.NK2 file and add, edit, or remove the nicknames of the people to
whom I send mail.

You can only open and edit the NK2 file using a third party utility.
Microsoft provides no such ability.
Any email address to which you send a message will be added to your
autocompletion cache. If it does not, you have a corrupt profile and must
create a new one.

You _should_ be able to add any address or contact you wish be entering it
in a new message's recipient field, then pressing Ctrl-K to resolve the
address. You don't need to send the message. It always works for me.

The NK2 file might not be written properly unless you close Outlook. So,
while the names should appear during a single session of Outlook, if Outlook
doesn't close properly, they might not appear in the list the next time you
start Outlook. Also, the binding between the mail profile and the NK2 file
can become damaged for various reasons and a new profile can repair that.
Other than those, I can't think of any particular reason you'd see this.
