How do I interactively open Excel with Internet Exployer?

Have Office 2003 with SP1 and Internet Exployer 6.0 with SP2. Also have
installed Office Web Components OWC10.msi. (I have also removed owc10 and
installed OWC11.msi.)
When I try to open an Excel spreadsheet, I get the following error:
"To ues this page interactively, you must have Microsoft Internet Exployer
4.01 or later and Microsoft Office Web components."

Any help is appricated.
