How do I jump to task start in Gantt Chart from task list?

When in the default task view you see the task list on the left side and the
Gantt chart on the right side. Clicking on a bar in the Gantt chart
highlights the corresponding entry in the task list but selecting a task in
the task list does not provide any such aid for the bar in the Gantt chart.

Depending on the duration of the project and the current ZOOM level it is
difficult to find the corresponding bar.

Is there some way to make the Gantt chart timeline to center on the start
date of the selected task?

Hi
Select the task for which you want to view the bar in the table area.
Now from the formatting toolbar select the option "Go to selected task bar"
The short cut is Ctrl+Shift+F5

Up on the toolbar near the zoom buttons is a little icon which takes you to
the selected Task.
