How do I keep consistent grid lines in a canvas?

I've created a two-page flowchart with snap-to gridlines and a canvas. When I
begin to work on page two, the page one symbols no longer match the grid!
Why? How to fix?

I'm not quite sure I'm following your scenario. Objects (including drawing canvas) are limited to one page in Word.

Can you provide additional details, including the version of Word you're using, the steps you're following and if, when you select
each drawing canvas, if the Grid options are still set for each one (Drawing Toolbar=>Draw=>Grids)
