Sometimes you can't. I would suggest using plain text for online use.
Believe me, if the format's screwed up when a potential employer looks at
it, you're sunk. Unless you're applying for a job where design/creativity is
mandatory, keep it simple. (My best friend is an HR rep. I've learned a lot
of great things about resumes from her.)
