How do I keep my duration from changing when I use multiple calen.

MS Project 2000 - My duration changes from 30 days to 37.5 days when I use a
7-10hr day calendar instead of my standard calendar (8 hrs per day). Is
there any way to get it to show the 30 days on this task without affecting
other task?

Hi Merlin,

You may wish to view the post titled "Summary Task Incorrect Duration"
dated today (19 Jan 2005) for a discussion about this very issue.

The short answer is that the duration for your task is being based upon the
definition of a "day" being 8 hours. You cannot change that definition for
only one task.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

JulieS,

Thanks so much for your help. I had read your ealier posting and tried the
MACRO. It worked. The duration in hours is correct and so is the start and
finish dates. I just hope the client understands that the all powerfull
Microsoft Software has limitations beyond a scheduler's control.

Thanks again,

Merlin
