How do I keep table which contains footnotes on 1 page?

I have a table which itself should fit on one page. There are numerous
footnote references, however, and it seems that in order for the footnotes to
run on the same page as the table, the table breaks onto a second page. I've
deselected "allow rows to break across page" in Table Properties and have
also selected "Keep together" in Format for each row of table.
Any solutions? ideas? Thanks.

Well, if the table and footnotes won't both fit on the same page, you're
going to have to make some choices. If you want the footnotes to be at the
end of the table, then it's best to create them manually and put them below
the table or (as I usually do) in the last (merged) row of the table. In any
case, this is usually a good approach because footnote references in tables
that are mostly numbers usually use lowercase letters; in text tables, you
could use the asterisk, dagger, double dagger, paragraph mark, section mark
series. These will not affect the sequence of the text footnotes in the
document (which use numerical reference marks).
