How do I link contacts

Is there any way to link contacts together?
For example, the Spouse field could be either the text field it currently is
or a link to another contact.
I could link all contacts from a company or in a family together.

There is a field in every Contact Record that allows you to link to other
Contacts. It's there by default in all versions but Outlook 2007. In the
latter you can easily add it.

Hi Russ,

I typically have 2007. Do you know what the field is?

I just think it would be nice if they had an interface that allowed for more
customisation as I mentioned earlier.

Tools, options, contact options - enable the option to show contact linking.

Thanks Diane.
It's a little simplistic. It would be nice in a future addition to have a
similar function to that of adding phone numbers, whereby a user can choose
the contact type then choose the contact.
So, for example, if I make a call to a business contact, and it is not
answered, I can quickly get the number for their reception, secretary or
colleague. The same could be applied to a family.

I don't expect to see multiple fields for linking contacts, its just not
used enough. if you need to identify the contacts, add them as shortcuts in
the notes field or make notes in the notes field about who the linked
contacts are.
