How do I link my Outlook Contacts to E-mail

D

DeeDeeCee

For some reason, the connection between the 2 has broken down. I use Outlook
2007. E-mail addresses that used to automatically pop-in when I started
typing, no longer do. When I click on "Address Book" in the Message Ribbon of
an e-mail, it shows the mail program linked to my "Outlook Address Book", but
also 'No entries in this address book". I have to go to a drop-down menu to
see a sub-directory for Contacts, or Contact in (X e-mail account). Once I
click on those, there are plenty of entries. So how do I make it
automatically link to thos sub-directories or folders, to avoid all that
clicking.

Thanks in advance.

You're describing two different things. The AutoSuggest list that pops up
when you're typing isn't connected to your address book - rather that's a
separate file (.NK2) that contains only e-mail addresses you've used
recently.

If you type in a name and then tab to the next field (or press ALT+K to
force resolution) it should resolve against your address book and pull the
e-mail address in (assuming that name/address exist in your address book)
