How do I log every office communicator IM?

S

SeaNICK

I know the official story is that the IM's are only logged at the server by
default and there is no option to enable logging all conversations at the
client. but until the user can search the logs of their own conversations,
this does not help me any. I want to be able to re-read my previous messages
that include things like phone numbers, times, dates, people, etc. without
having to email myself every single IM (assuming I close the window after
every IM, which I often do, in order to reduce screen clutter.) Needless to
say, a bunch of messages emailed to myself would not help me reduce my screen
clutter. This is a reason I still prefer MSN messenger but unfortunately some
people don't use MSN messenger which means I have no choice but to
communicate to them with the less-useful IM client Office Communicator. Why
is it so user-unfriendly??? Put in advertisements if they are necessary to
pay for automatic local log creation, like MSN has. It would be worth it.
(since the ads do nothing in terms of getting me to spend money on products
that advertise with msn...)
Please let me know how to get this feature added, or provide me with the
email address of someone in the office communicator group that I could bribe
into providing me a private version which logs locally. Or tell me how to
program an addin for communicator that will do the same. I really don't want
to resort to a hacker trick to save these messages but I have lost so much
useful info that are logged ONLY in some database I don't have access to,
that I would be willing to try it at this point.
