how do I make 5 digits save in a table?

MY TABLE IS SET UP TO PRINT TO A WORD DOCUMENT. WHEN I PUT IN FIVE DIGIT
PROJECT NUMBERS AND CLOSE OUT OF ACCESS THEY DISAPPEAR. WHAT AM I DOING
WRONG. WHEN i USE FOUR DIGIT PROJECT NUMBERS THEY SAVE.

Would you like to provide your field datatype? Is it somehow significant
that your table is set up to print to a Word document?
Are you entering the numbers into the table or a form?
