How do I make a paper-saving template?

I would like to use/create a template that uses all available printing space
on a page. No header or footer or anything else that takes up page space.
I'm trying to archive some records and I want to SAVE PAPER!

What kind of records? Something in a computer file? Text entries in an
application? Scans of hard copies obtained with a flatbed scanner or
Multi-Function Device (MFD - Combination scanner/printer/fax)?

Reduce font size of text, change to landscape orientation and set for
two columns.

For scanned documents re sample to a smaller size in your favorite
bitmap image editor (you MAY need one that's a bit more powerful than
the Paint program that is installed with Windows), switch to landscape
orientation and add two images to a page. With Word you should be able
to create a two column document with a frame in each column and insert
your scanned document images into the frames. You may even be able to
save that Word document as an HTML file and edit or add the two images (
<img> tag) height and width parameters in Notepad.

All text, some emails, no scans. Really wanted to figure out how not to have
space for headers and footers. Would like to make margins so all available
(printable) space on paper is used. Thanks for your try. Would love to hear
more!
