I have Microsoft home & student. I want to know if I can make a phot
directory with phots's of each person and addresses & phone numbers. Then can
I sort these items alphabetically and keep all the info together, I tried
doing this in excell and I kept looseing my picture even if I grouped them
with a text box within a cell. Any help will be greatly appreiciated.

You could do this with a Word table and there are other programs that will
also do this.

For Word, create the number of columns you need in the table for Name and
Address and the Picture. Put headers on the first row to enable sorting on
those columns.

For ease of use, I create my columns as LastName, FirstName, MI, Street1,
Street2, City, St, Zip for my database for mail merge. Of course you would
add picture column (but never sort on that column.) That way I can sort on
name, city or zip for presorted mailings.

Type the name and address in the appropriate column/s and then Insert,
Picture from file in the column for the picture. Make sure the picture is
sized (both size in height and width and pixels depth should be set to 95
per inch) appropriately in whatever photo editing program you use before the
insert or your Word file will get huge.

Hope this helps.
