I have a document that I need to make corrections on. Is there a way to make
corrections on a scanned document?
The scanner only gives you a picture of the original, which Word can't
edit. You have to use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to
"read" the picture and produce editable text in a Word document.
Most scanners come bundled with some OCR program. If that isn't
available, the Microsoft Office disk includes a rudimentary one called
Microsoft Office Document Imaging that may suffice; if it isn't
installed on your computer, run the Office installer from the Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs and choose the Add Features option.
