How do I make dataField check boxes not a required attribute?

I am trying to create a form using InfoPath 2003 where users can input data
on a form that is linked to an Access 2003 database. I am trying to
incorporate check box fields where the users can select which ones apply to
them; however, these dataField attributes show they "can not be blank". Not
all check boxes will be used, but InfoPath will not allow the data to cross
to the database because these check boxes were set up automatically and I
can't uncheck the "can not be blank" checkbox. I can't find anything anywhere
to show me how to overcome this.

I think this is caused by the fact that by default you do not have a vlaue
for checked and unchecked.

Until you assign a value for each state it will not allow you to turn off
the validation.

Check properties and update these values, then you can uncheck the box.
