How do I make footers unique for each page such as L-3, L-4, L-5?

P

Portocar

When I enter the footer for the first page - which I want to be L-3, then all
the footers of all the pages of the document state: L- 3.
I want subsequent pages to have footers such as L-4, L-5, L-6 etc.
How do I do this?
Thank you,

Use page numbering fields. You can start the number with 3 or you can use a
computation field. Take a look at
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm. For even more,
see http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Page_Numbering.htm.

I think you need to specify that in the page numbers dialogue. Not sure
about that though.

You could in theory make each page its own section, but that's usually
anything but practical.

If there's not more to it, you had best told Word to start your page
count at "3", and then add "L-" before a PAGE field in your footer.
