How do I make Office 2007 run faster?

P

I just installed Office 2007 - it runs a lot slower than the software it
replaced. Loads much slower, takes longer to accomplish tasks. My pc is
running Win XP, SP3. Has Pentium 4 running at 2.8 gig with 1 gig of RAM. Hard
drive is 111 gig with 78 gig free. Any suggestions on changes I can make to
speed things up? Thanks.

Upgrade to 2GB RAM.

if it runs faster in
safe modes,

then it is likely that
there are processes
running in normal mode
that are hogging the
resources.

so a clean boot
would be the method
to initiate to see if
the logic above is
correct.

----------------------

another thing you
can do is to set
the virtual memory
to a fixed custom size.

sometimes automatic
mode fails to properly
adjust the virtual memory,

if the cpu runs out of
resources.

-------------------

then there is also a
freeware that I use
to monitor the memory
and flush out unused
dll's / processes
from memory.

it can be found here:
