How do I make Outlook 2002 retain passwords?

Confused Mailer

Outlook 2002 has suddenly stopped remembering my email passwords (two
accounts). I have edited the registry as recommended in the Microsoft
solution to the problem

This did not solve the problem as it is still intermittently (nearly always)
there.

Yes, I do check the box!!
