How do I make Outlook automatically download messages?

I run Outlook 2007, SP1 MSO. It stopped automatically downloading messages a
few weeks ago from my hotmail account. It downloads other POP email messages.
I have to mark each message for download and the hit send/receive again.
How do I fix this??
