how do i make text blink in MS word?

Select the text, and click on Format | Font | Text Effects |
Animations: Shimmer | OK.

There really isn't anything that makes the text itself blink. Shimmer is
different from blinking. I think the closest that you can get is the
background blink (Instead of shimmer").
