how do I make the vertical lines in left column disappear

I had a friend proof a document. She sent it back with what she thought I
should change (grammer and such). The document showed the "markup" changes.
Once I approved the changes it left behind, in the left column a small
vertical line indicating what line the change was made on. I can't send this
document online with these lines showing corrections. How do I make the
vertical lines go away.

There is no way you will still be seeing change bars if all the changes have
been accepted (unless they were actually inserted as drawing lines). Have
you actually used the Accept All Changes in Document menu item?
