How do I manage picture placeholders in Word 2007

I can see only picture placeholders. When I double click on the picture
nothing happens. The right button also does not give any results.

Office button (upper left corner) - Word Options - Advanced tab - Show
document content section, remove the check next to Show picture
placeholders.
