how do I merge 2 tables?

I have a page that I scanned and OCR'd.
The pages I'm scanning are gvt forms set up like tables.
Rather than making the page all one table it split it up into 2.
Is there a way to combine (merge/join) 2 tables in a word document (not
during the recognition process but afterwards in ms word)?

The way to join two tables is ordinarily to delete any text paragraphs that
appear between them (this is easier to do if you have nonprinting characters
displayed). This may not work if (a) the tables are wrapped or in frames or
(b) the tables are nested. It is my understanding that OCR often puts text
in frames; if you see a hashed border around the table when you select it,
it is in a frame. You can double-click on the border to bring up the Format
Frame dialog and click on Remove Frame to get the text out of the frame. If
the table is not in a frame, it may still be "wrapped" or "floating."
Right-click, choose Table Properties, and, on the Table tab, make sure that
text wrapping is set to None rather than Around.

No frames to worry about here. You're right, OCR has a habit of doing that,
but I already removed them. Thanks for the info. Just removigin the lines
between the tables did the trick. That was way too easy!
