how do I modify protected actuals

Say as project admin I receive and accept some timesheet updates in Project
Web Access 2003. This means the protected actuals got updated. How would I
undo that? I want to erase those protected actuals that just got accepted.
I have full admin permissions to the project server, etc, I just need to
know how to go in and change/clear protected actuals.

thanks

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is going to
close down. To answer your question, here's how:

1. Ask your Project Server administrator to temporarily disable the Managed
Time Periods feature in Project Server
2. Open the project in question
3. Apply the Resource Usage view
4. Select the task assignment whose actuals you want to clear and then
delete them
5. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
6. In the Republish Assignments dialog, select the "Selected items" option
from the pick list at the top of the dialog
7. In the Republish Assignments dialog, select the "Overwrite actual work
entered by resources" option at the bottom of the dialog
8. Click OK
9. Ask your Project Server administrator to re-enable the Managed Time
Periods feature

As you have now discovered, "protected" actuals really are protected in the
system, which means you will be unable to every change them without
performing the above steps. Hope this helps.
