My office 2003 install went and placed the msocache
directory on the largest available partition. I would like
to move this onto a different partition as the partition
it is currently on is meant to be for user data.

Any ideas how I do this?

Many thanks.

Hi David,

Right now there really isn't an easy way to do this. There are a few
Registry entries for this but most have found if you modify them you
then start encountering errors. If you move msocache then you can also
encounter problems, even if you try moving it back.

If you need to do this immediately then your best bet is to
uninstall/reinstall. Otherwise you may want to wait for a month or
so...

Thanks Beth

I wish I had paid more attention during the install! If I
were to uninstall/reinstall office 2003 does the install
actually give you an option to select a different
location?

Hi David,

I'm not sure if you are still following this group but to update my
previous reply, a utility is now available for moving your Local
Install Source (MSOCACHE):
