How do I open 2000 word file in word 2002?

I have important files saved in word 2000 on floppy disk. I need to open the
files in word 2002 because I have upgraded to XP and it keeps asking me if I
want to format my disk instead of opening the files. Please help!!

Do not open Word files directly from a floppy disk or other removable
media, because doing so will likely corrupt the Word files. Instead,
use Windows Explorer to copy the files from the removable media to your
hard drive, and edit the copies on your hard drive.
