How do I open a CWK file in Word (Office 2003)

Is there a plug-in for Word 2004 that will enable me to open CWK files
(Claris Works/AppleWorks)?

In Word 2002 or 2003, you may be able to use the "Recover text
from any file" file type in the File|Open dialog box to open a
ClarisWorks .cwk file, but you will only get the text... all of
the formatting will be lost. Earlier versions of Word for
Windows do not have the ability to import native-format .cwk
files. From within ClarisWorks, it is possible to "save as" a
Microsoft Word (.doc) or rich text format (.rtf) file, both of
which Word for Windows can open. Or you might consider a
third-party conversion program such as Dataviz Conversions Plus
(see http://www.dataviz.com/products/conversionsplus/index.html ).

Are you using MacWord 2004 or Windows Word 2003? You mention both.

If Windows, follow Garfield-n-Odie's advice.

MacWord 2004 does open AppleWorks documents, at least if it's a text
document. Use File | Open from within Word. If you are on the Mac, see here
for Google/Entourage gateway to newsgroups for MacWord, MacExcel, and other
MS programs for the Mac:
