How do I open a File in Excel for the first time

I am a new User to Excel and I would like to know how to Open a file for the
first time to start Excel

Start Exel first
Best from icion on Desktop or from the Program Menu (Start...)

The from the menu File -> Open .. locate your file.
If you want to start a new file, then use File-> New
