How do I open a file with enter when I enter a file with a unique

In Word 2000 when I put in a partial file name (which is unique and returns
one file) the name would be highlighted in the open box dialog which would be
at the end of the folder names and I all I needed to do was push enter. In
the new version 2003 when I put in the partial file name it shows up in the
open box dialog but I now have to SHIFT-TAB to go into the box and then down
or up arrow to chose the file name and then enter. Is there a way to return
to the 2000 version.

Perhaps I'm not clear on the problem.

The Open & Save As dialogs are actually Windows Operating System features
called by the program you are using at the time. Using Word 2003 I have not
trouble going into the Open dialo, typing a unique partial file name &
having it open simply by pressing Enter. This is in Windows XP Professional.

Which version of Windows are you using & are you sure that Windows &
Word/Office are fully updated?
