How do I open .eml files with outlook

I have recently purchased a new PC that runs microsoft Outlook. All my
previous computers have run outlook express and we have always saved our
e-mails in .eml format apparently. The Outlook program does not save siles
in that format nor can I open any of my archived files any more. Help me
please.

You cannot open EML files with Outlook. You'll need to load them into Outlook
Express or Windows [Live] Mail first.

Had you retained the dbx files Outlook Express used, the process would be just
a little cleaner, but not too much.
