Excel 2003 will not launch/start automatically when I double click on files I
created in Excel XP if the folder or file name contains word spaces (e.g.
Dave's Documents\Dave's Budget.xls)
The error message would say "Dave's.xls could not be found," then
"Documents.xls could not be found," etc.
The operating system seems to stop reading the file name at the first word
space like the old MS-DOS.
Excel 2003 will start automatically if the file path is renamed to eliminate
word spaces or if word spaces are replaced with underscores (e.g.,
Dave'sDocuments\Dave's_Budget.xls)
What settings/preferences/tools must I change in order for Windows 2003 to
start the Excel application when double clicking file names containing word
spaces?
