How do I open .mdi files in Office 2007?

As an Office 2003 user, I saved many files as Microsoft Document Imaging
files. Now I am using Office 2007 and I can't seem to open any files with
the .mdi file extension. How can I open and read these .mdi files in Office
2007?

MS Office 2007 Document Imaging is an optional installation feature from the Microsoft Office 2007 choice in Add/Remove Programs in
the Windows Control Panel.
