Right-click on an Office program icon in the Start Menu and select
"Remove from this list". Repeat procedure for any other Office icons
shown. Next, open the Microsoft Office folder, then right-click
and select "Pin to Start Menu" and repeat for other Office programs.

After installing Office 2003 SP3 under Windows Vista Business SP1,
have found the same problem. I can pin and start any application fro
the Start Menu except those of Office. Removing and re-pinning does no
resolve it. I can start the programs from Quick Lauch or an icon on th
Desktop. On the start menu, however, clicking on one of the Offic
icons gives no joy

Any ideas

I have done this and it still doesn't work, i could open them when i received
my laptop, the problem only occured when i was advised to download an upgrade
from microsoft, i am using windows vista premium home edition.
I have followed swhaws suggestion and can only get them to open from a
shortcut icon on my desktop, they will not run from quickstart
