Well, an .xls file could be a Microsoft Excel 97-2003 spreadsheet
file, so if you have Microsoft Excel 97 or newer, you could try
using it to open the .xls file. Or if you don't, you can
download and install the free Microsoft Excel 2003 Viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...F4-996C-4569-B547-75EDBD03AAF0&displaylang=en
and then try using it to open the .xls file. OpenOffice Calc can
also open Microsoft Excel .xls files.
