How do I play *.gif* in word 2003?

How do I get a file with a *.gif* file extension to animate in Microsoft Work
2003? I copy and paste them from Mozilla and one the background of the image
comes up. Is there even a way to do this?

Also, if I do this, will another person to able to view the animation in a
word document if that person opens the document on another computer?

Any help would be appreciated.

MS Word can support flash (.SWF) inserts, but MS hasn't gotten around to enabling the GIF animations in Word, while it does in it's
web browser
