Project server 2007 SP1
Hi all
I wonder if Microsoft includes in the last SP1 release an improvement for
the status manger population.
If so, I can I populate the list without forcing each of the status manager
to open the file and add them self.
Is it possible to create a list of status manager in a similar way as the
build team from enterprise?
Best Regards

In SP1 Project Server 2007, when a PM saves and publishes an enterprise
project initially, the system sets the PM as the Status Manager for every
task in the project. If a new PM takes over the project, he/she must STILL
open the project and set the Status Manager value to his/her own name for
every task in the project. Thus, this has not changed in SP1. Therefore,
you still must make this a training and performance issue with your PM's.

You WILL find with SP1, however, that your PM's can now use the Fill Handle
to fill down their name in the Status Manager column, which greatly speeds
up the process. Hope this helps.

Is it possible to do it via PWA?
We have sub project managers for each project and we would like them to keep
an eye on their progress

What did I just tell you in my last message? :) No, you cannot do this in
PWA. If your sub-project managers need to accept task updates, they MUST
have Project Professional 2007 and they must set themselves as the Status
Manager of those tasks in the Microsoft Project plan. Your process does not
match the capabilities of the software; so you will need to change your
process to match how the software actually works. Hope this helps.
