How do I post pictures in a discussion forum.

L

Lori

I've set up a discussion forum mainly for art critiques but in order to do
that I need to be able to post pictures. I'd like them to show up in the
post and not have a link to go to to see them. Is this possible?

Most web based forums I use use the img tag.

Not possible when using the FP Discussion Web.

Is it possible then to create any kind of forum with FP that will let me
upload pictures straight into the "Comment" for critique purposes ?

You'll need to find a third party forum you can use, or create your own with
asp, php, etc., depending on the server side scripting your host supports.

Thanks for your help. I'm dissappointed but I dont plan to give up though.
I'll start googling for script to see if I can make this work anyway. But
at least I wont keep beating my head against a wall trying to find a way
through FP for this glitch.
I appreciat your quick responses.

First you will need to determine what server-side scripting and database is supported by your web
host, then you can search for a pre-written application to do this. Also be sure to verify that your
web host allow uploads by site visitors.

Well, after checking with Omnis, I found out that they DO NOT allow anonymous
uploading of files. Sooo, I guess I'm shopping forums AGAIN. Thank you for
all of your help. It saved me HOURS of digging.

In looking at Omnis hosting plans and features, it looks like they
offer several different free forum scripts:

Phpbb
Web wiz
Punbb
Simple machines
Phorum

Install should be easy, setting them up can be some work but there is
usually plenty of help to be had from other users discussing the forum
software in another forum.

Compared to a real *.php forum, the FP discussion forum is crap...
