How do I prevent Ouotlook from deleting calender items?

I have a PDA that I sync with Outlook and Outlook deletes calendar items that
are >1 year old. Is there a way to prevent this?

Thanks for your help. Is there a way to retreive the old items that have
been auto-archived? They are saved in a folder on my hard drive.
