How do I prevent outlook from automatically zipping my files when.

I frequently send documents as attachments directly from Word, but it zips
the files automatically. Many of my clients companies will not allow zipped
files and they ask me to send them unzipped. How can I turn that feature off?

This is not a feature of Outlook. You have a 3rd party program installed
that does this on the fly and needs to be disabled in that program. Some of
the ones I am aware of are ZipOut, Winzip, and QuickView+.
