how do i print an e-mail with the "subject:" field in the header

i receive e-mails occasionally that print the "subject" field in the header.
Generally they are html format. i can print page numbers, date, time, user,
and text values in the header or footer because they are driven by buttons in
the file-page setup-memo style page. i cannot figure out how to print the
"subject" field.

HTML printout headers include the page title field (identified by
<title></title>)- the ones that work apparently include the subject as the
page title.

my tools-options-mail format-compose message format = html.
with the e-mail open, my file-page setup-memo style-header =
<title></title>&w&bPage &p of &P
the footer contains &u&b&d
when printed, the header contains "<title></title>" on the left; blank in
center; "Page 1 of 1" on the right.
the footer prints "12/12/2005" on the left; the rest of the footer is blank.
Note that from the in-box view (with no open e-mail), my file-page
setup-memo style, header tab has completely different parameters - and this
is the starting point from where i sent myself a test e-mail to check the
layout. the description above is what the e-mail looked like when i received
it.

right - plain text uses the outlook print settings, html uses the i.e. print
dialog and settings.

that is good to know.
now, "<title></title>" does not produce the subject. it prints as
meaningless text. what else might i need to do?
