How do I print duplex stapled booklets after a mail merge?

I am printing a monthly newsletter that is 6 duplex 11x17 pages in Publisher.
I did a mail merge from MS Office. When I print, the printer attempts to
staple all of the booklets together. It is not recognizing the need to staple
after each one. What am I doing wrong?

Publications are not individually collated and stapled when you use the mail
merge feature to print in Publisher 2003, Publisher 2002 or in Publisher 2000

I use a Canon Photocopier to print a school newsletter each week and if I
select more than 1 copy the 'collate' button (on the Print dialogue box) is
automatically ticked. I have to 'untick' this button or the document will
not print correctly. I was told this is because Publisher is trying to
collate and gets into conflict with the Printer trying to collate. Don't
know if this helps or not.

i have the exact same problem and have to print 1200 4 duplex 11 x 17 folded
and stapled pages next week. did you ever resolve the problem? Oh, i hope so.
what did you do? i saw once reply that said to print one record at a time but
that's not possible with 1200 records!

if you could answer back ASAP, i'll be able to sleep tonight!

does a newer version of Publisher support mail merging multi-page booklets? I
have to print 1200 booklets this week!

should sort your problem. Works just as well in Publisher 2007 as it did
in Publisher 2003, AFAIK.

talking about the inkjet one sitting beside my monitor.
